Tahoe Women Services, North Lake Tahoe. FT position; Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse issues, and knowledge of and sensitivity to unique needs and problems of women and children who have been victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Responsible for providing direct crisis intervention services to Spanish and English speaking clients. Refer and advocate for clients with appropriate local resources. Provide phone and in-person peer counseling to adult and child clients. Provide assistance with Temporary Protective Order paperwork. A qualified candidate should possess strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, and complete all required paperwork to maintain tracking system of client’s progress.
Ability and willingness to take initiative and responsibility, and to function in an organized manner with a minimum of supervision. Willingness to work as part of a team effort. Must possess emotional maturity and stability and be able to model non-violent behavior in resolving conflicts and exercise appropriate boundaries. Ability to accept diverse personal and cultural behaviors of people in a non-judgmental manner. Once hired, you will be required to attend the TWS 63 hour Crisis Intervention Training.
