This is a Buehler DuoMet II Belt Surfacer & Polisher, which makes grinding decorative stone, metallographic or spectrographic samples easy and efficient.
The DuoMet 2 features a heavy-duty, fused motor for superior durability and performance. Replaceable stainless steel wear plates are designed to maximize machine life.
Separate belt flushing and coolant controls guarantee adequate removal of particulate matter from the grinding belt, for efficient cutting action, while providing critical specimen cooling.
The stainless steel sink with faucet allows the convenience of quickly grinding and washing the specimen in one location; this feature is particularly useful between coarse and fine grinding steps and for production applications.
This unit will need a cord replacement (or repair). The cord was accidentally caught between the edge of the cabinet and the wall. The wall wasn't going anywhere, and this machine is HEAVY, so the cord lost the argument.
