*REDUCED!
*This is a "Flying A" service station patrol helmet in descent shape with specific regional marking from Tidewater Spokane, Washington. The helmet likely dates to the period when the "Flying A" brand was prominent following World War II and before its phase-out. The helmet appears original with NO cracks or damage...has typical wear for its age. Leather head and chin straps and good, webbing is warn but still intact. I am not an expert but it appears to be original to me except the draw string on the underside looks to have been replaced at some point.
*History: 1946-1960s, the Tidewater Associated Oil Company (formed in 1936) heavily used the "Flying A" brand during the post-war boom. In the West, service stations often used "Associated Flying A" before consolidating under just "Flying A".
The explicit "Tidewater Spokane Washington" marking suggests it was issued during the specific operational period of that regional distribution center or office. This kind of localized branding was common on gas station service attire during the mid-century.
*Although I have not had it appraised, I see them going for $250 - $450 with decal intact and in descent shape.
*REDUCED TO $150....OBO, A nice collectors piece for anyone looking for automobilia / petroliana
