Quite often the availability of service for used equipment is not up to par for the service you would receive for a new unit purchased under warranty.

You never have any idea of how much the used equipment has been used, or how hard it worked. This can cause unforeseen problems.

Buying used equipment tends to also be a cash and carry experience. You will need to bring your own truck and enough people to carry whatever you buy.

You never know when an older model is due for a major overhaul or has been removed from NSF approval status of the National Sanitation Foundation. Some types of older equipment may fail to meet current health codes, which is no bargain if they cause problems with the health inspector.
