The Zeiss Stemi DV4 is a compact Greenough-system stereo microscope featuring a 4:1 zoom ratio (8x to 32x magnification) and a "Double Lens Vario" system for high-contrast imaging, designed for routine inspection and education. Key components include an integrated LED or cold light illumination stand, adjustable eyepieces for diopter compensation, and a ~92mm working distance.
Illumination: Utilize the built-in switch for reflected (top), transmitted (bottom), or mixed light.
Key Operating Procedures
Focusing: Use the focus knobs to move the head up/down.
Magnification: Rotate the zoom knob to change magnification from 8x to 32x, with the image remaining parfocal (in focus) throughout the range.
Diopter Adjustment: To adjust, set the zoom to the highest magnification, focus on a flat object, then zoom to the lowest magnification to adjust the eyepiece diopter rings for individual eye sharpness.
Interpupillary Distance: Adjust the distance between eyepieces until a single, circular field of view is seen.
Maintenance & Components
Optics: Clean with specialized lens paper and cleaning solutions.
Accessories: Compatible with various stands (C LED), camera adapters, and a 16-position sample carousel.
Eyepieces: 10x or 15x, with a 30mm plug-in diameter.
