I purchased this Gitane Professional Tour De France (TDF) new in May 1973 (it cost the equivalent of about $2100 in today's money). It is in excellent condition--probably the best still in existence.

These are a legendary 10-speed bike. It was constructed with Reynolds 531 steel tubing, has Mavic rims, Mafac Competition brakes, Stronglight cranks, Campagnolo hubs, and was one of the best bikes available. It only weighs 25 lbs.

This particular bike has a 25" frame so it is well-suited to tall riders. It would not be suitable for someone with short legs.

I will include the original leather saddle which I swapped out for a padded one some time ago.

If you're looking for a real classic which still is a great ride, you aren't going to find one better than this.

Please note that I will only accept cash--no checks, money orders, credit cards, trades, or other forms of payment. Also, I will not ship this bike--it must be picked up in the VC Highlands just a short distance off Hwy 341 (Gieger Grade).
