The MacGregor 25 is a 25 foot long recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a fractional sloop masthead sloop rig, a transom-hung rudder and a 625 lb (283 kg) swing keel. It displaces 2,100 lb (953 kg). Draft is 1.83 ft / 0.56 m with the swing keel up, and 5.67 ft / 1.73 m with the swing keel in the down position.
This boat is a 1986 Macgregor 25, which has been sailed on Lake Oroville, Lake Tahoe and Stampede Reservoir multiple days each summer for the past 21 years. It is ready to sail! The sails are original; the main and genoa are in fair condition, while the jib has been repaired with sail tape. All are functional and ready to hoist! It has a valid title. It is registered and has the NV AIS sticker for 2025.

The outboard motor that goes with the boat is a Suzuki 9.9 hp oil injection 2-stroke, which requires no mixing of fuel and oil. Starts easy and runs great.
This boat has the following enhancements:
Arch: Large diameter Tubular Aluminum Mast and Solar Panel Holder – Allows for boat to be operated with mast un-stepped, and trailered with the mast at a higher level at the rear, offering greater safety. Complete with mast roller. Mast raising block and tackle system included for raising mast.
Bow Pulpit and Stern rail
Solar - Two variable angle solar panels and charge regulator are included.
Batteries – The original single battery has been upgraded with an additional battery.
Inverter – A 400 watt inverter is used to convert 12 vdc to 125 vac. Two duplex outlets are installed in the interior for access to the AC.
Perko Switches – 3 Perko switches are used: One to turn on 12vdc to the lights and inverter switch, 1 to control the inverter and 1 to connect or disconnect the charge controller from the batteries, allowing for charging the batteries when the boat is stored, as well as under way. This switch also allows for the charge controller to be disconnected from the batteries for maintenance.
Battery Status Indicators – Two battery status indicator panels are installed to track battery charge, charge rate, etc.
Life Preservers – 4 older used life preservers.
Bimini – A large bimini covers the cockpit area, allowing for full shade during sailing.
Engine Mount - A new motor mount suitable for a 4 stroke engine replaced the original motor mount. This is an adjustable mount, allowing for raising or lowering the motor.
Depth Finder – This is a Lowrance unit, showing the depth and fish clearly, mounted to the cabin for use by the operator.
GPS – This is a hand-held unit, mounted to the cabin for use by the operator.
Cabin Light – This unit was replaced with a selectable White/Red LED model.
Lines Led Aft – All halyards and sheets are led aft for singlehanding and convenient operation.
Tiller Tamer – For keeping boat on a desired heading without continual adjustment of the tiller.
New Cushion Foam – All cushions in the boat are original. The Settee cushions have had the foam upgraded to a more firm version.
Head - PortaPotty is included.
Head Door – The original head door is provided, but is not installed.
Anchor/Anchor Holder – Anchor is a Danforth type with 100 feet of rode and 15 feet of chain. A stainless steel anchor holder is attached to the bow pulpit. There is no anchor locker on this type of boat, but a 5 gallon bucket in the vee berth serves to hold the 15 ft. chain and 100 ft. rode when the anchor is not deployed.
Galley – The original galley is included in this boat. The manual sink pump has been replaced with an electric pump.
Padeyes – Padeyes have been added to the long berth opposite the settee. These can be used to tie
down extra equipment, if the cushion is not used. The porta-potty area floor has padeyes added, and nylon pack straps are used to secure the porta-potty to the floor for sailing (straps included). Even the bow eye has been replaced and strengthened.
Gas Springs – The Pop-Top has been equipped with Gas Springs to ease raising and lowering.
Trailer Upgrades – The trailer has new LED trailer lights, new Post-Style Guide-Ons with LED lights and a new 7 position trailer connector. The pressure treated bunks have been recarpeted. A new trailer tongue was welded on in 2020, and the trailer repainted.
