VERY rare Morgan Silver Dollar. This coin carries the Mapes Casino Hoard Pedigree label. Beautiful toning,
and is graded a PCGS MS-65. Northern Nevada Coin, has an MS-63 available for $2,300.00, WITHOUT
the Mapes Casino Hoard Pedigree label. The Mapes Casino Hoard Pedigree label, is very rare in a PCGS holder, and are seldom seen for sale.
Have only seen one other.
This coin is not for everyone, and is priced accordingly, just not a lot of them out there.
Sorry, price is non negotiable. Beautifully toned Morgan, as well as a very sought after, and rare, iconic Mapes Casino collectible.
** Do some research on this coin.
The Mapes Casino was shuttered in 1982, due to tax reasons. A few select bags of Morgan Silver Dollars were found in the Mapes Casino bank vault.
A Collector's Stash: Charles Mapes Jr., owner of Reno's Mapes Casino, collected and hoarded Morgan Silver Dollars, particularly choice San Francisco (S) mint issues.
The Release: After the casino's demolition in 2008, these coins were released, often in bags, and then submitted to grading services like NGC and PCGS. They were then, graded and slabbed with the Mapes Casino Hoard provenance label, this is one of those coins.
