1977 VW Thing. Volkswagen stopped importing them in 1974 but continued manufacturing in Mexico. The engine was professionally rebuilt to 1641 cc and the transmission got new seals. It has new upholstery and carpet. It has glass (not plastic) side windows and the drivers window can be opened. The fold down windshield has a minor rock chip but otherwise is in good condition. The fold down top is in very good condition other than needing some stitching along the edge. It has front disc brakes. I don’t know if they were factory installed or aftermarket. It has the original paint and is free of major dents other than a ding in the right front fender. The tires are excellent including a new spare tire. I finished the restoration about six years ago but it has been driven less than 200 miles. I will answer all I questions by email only. If this ad is up, the car is still for sale.
