Triad School is seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant to work closely with one of our lead teachers for the grade levels of 4th-8th grade Language Arts and History. Duties of the Teaching Assistant include collaborating with the lead teacher on research and lesson planning, working with students, grading, and supporting school-wide initiatives. The ideal candidate should have the ability to collaborate, communicate, be organized, follow lesson plans and workflows, work with students of all ability levels, be flexible, learn quickly, and have patience and empathy. If you have previous experience as a teaching assistant, teaching and working with different types of learners or working with teens and pre-teens, we'd like to meet you. Ultimately, a successful Teaching Assistant will collaborate with the lead teacher in a middle school language arts and social studies classroom. 
Responsibilities: 
- Helping Teachers with lesson preparation, including collecting materials and setting up equipment  
- Research materials, resources, or lesson ideas on given topics 
- Reviewing lessons or lectures with students on a one-on-one basis or in small groups  
- Willingness to teach with and in place of the lead teacher  
- Supervising students in class, between classes, and during recreation periods and field trips  
- Tracking attendance and grading assignments 
- Giving extra help to students who need special accommodations or are struggling with a concept  
- Assisting students with special learning requirements, including disabilities or English as a second language students  
- Collaborating with the teacher to identify students' issues and recommend solutions  

Requirements: 
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, public speaking, and interpersonal conversation  
- Collaboration and teamwork abilities  
- Ability to engage students of all learning levels and grade levels 
- Experience working with Microsoft programs to include Teams 
- A bachelor's degree in education or a related field is preferred; however, two years of college classes, an associate degree in education, or a related program,or equivalent work experience in education.  
- Good organization and planning skills  
- Compassionate, positive, and encouraging attitude  
- Understanding pedagogical best practices is a plus
