We want you to know
eero 6 extender is meant to extend your existing eero network. If you do not have an eero system, learn more at amazon.com/eero.
eero 6 extenders work exclusively with eero routers.
eero works with most major internet service providers. Click here to learn more.
Can I use eero with my current ISP/
modem?
eero has been tested for compatibility with most major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the United States, Canada, UK, EU (France, England, Germany, Italy & Spain), Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.
As long as you can connect your gateway eero to a modem or upstream device with an Ethernet cable, you should be able to set up and use eero. For more information, see our article about ISPs.
Requirements to setup eero:
eero iOS app or Android app
Minimum iOS version 15.0 and minimum Android OS version 9.0
At least one eero with ethernet ports (the beacon and eero 6 extender cannot be used to start a network but can be added to an existing network)
Mobile device with a data connection (If you don't have access to a data connection, follow this workaround.)
Internet service provided into your home
You will need to have a download speed of at least 1 Mbps – this is the minimum suggested speed for eero to function properly
ONT or Modem (if required)
Some modems and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) require special configurations. If you're unsure what your ISP uses, we recommend reaching out to your service provider to confirm any special setup requirements. For more information on advanced configurations, please see specifics below:
