Coffee Roasting & Cold Brew Technician - Alpen Sierra Coffee supports Alpen Sierra Coffee Company’s daily
roasting, cold brew production, packaging, order fulfillment, and warehouse operations.
This role is integral to maintaining product quality, accuracy, consistency, and a clean, safe production environment.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, reliability, professionalism, and teamwork while upholding Alpen Sierra’s standards of craftsmanship and service.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
COFFEE ROASTING
1. Assist the Roasting Technician with roasting operations as needed, including machine cleaning, maintenance, and operation
2. Maintain a working knowledge of roast parameters, equipment operation, and quality checkpoints to support consistent, high-
quality production
3. Work in tandem with the Roasting Technician to ensure adequate and necessary inventory of all coffee blends and origins is
maintained at all times
4. Responsible for proper organic batch recording and blend tracking in full compliance with USDA NOP and CCOF Organic
Handler requirements
6. Assist in receiving, inspecting, and stocking incoming warehouse deliveries of raw product, supplies, packaging materials, and
merchandise
COLD BREW
1. Oversee and execute the full cold brew extraction and production cycle, including brewing vessel setup, coffee
dosing, and water-to-coffee ratio adherence per established recipes
2. Perform dilution calculations and blending per recipe specifications, ensuring accurate TDS concentration targets before kegging
3. Operate and maintain kegging equipment; fill, seal, label, and log all cold brew kegs in accordance with production and sanitation
protocols
4. Maintain accurate batch records for all cold brew production, including dates, lot codes, dilution ratios, yield, and disposition
PACKAGING
1. Responsible for daily packaging of all web and walk-in orders, as first priority, with strict attention to accuracy
2. Responsible for daily packaging of all wholesale delivery and shipment orders. Work in tandem with delivery team members to
ensure accuracy and completeness of all orders
3. Possess the necessary skills and provide active, direct support in producing and applying bag labels and in the
packaging and shipping of all orders — web, mail, and wholesale shipping — as needed
UNIVERSAL DUTIES
1. Cleaning, sanitation & facility upkeep
2. Clean coffee storage buckets, portioning scoops, cold brew vessels, kegging equipment, and all packaging implements daily —
and as volume and operations protocols dictate
3. Maintain required surface pH levels, sanitation procedures, and log recordings in accordance with USDA NOP / CCOF Organic
Handler protocol
4. Display a high level of professionalism, leadership, team collaboration, clear and effective communication, and commitment to the
position at all times
5. Maintain a professional environment through courtesy and respect in all actions and speech with fellow team members and the
public, ensuring consistent adherence to required Personnel Guide policies
6. Support continuous improvement efforts in production efficiency, waste reduction, and product quality
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs
• Comfort working in a warehouse and production environment with variable noise, dust, temperatures, and activity levels
