Muscovy ducks are a great addition to your flock! While we call them ducks, they are more closely related to geese, but a different subfamily of waterfowl that likes to roost in trees. Muscovy ducks are comical with their wagging tails and friendly swagger. They're quiet and quack-less, love to eat flies, mosquitos, spiders and will even dine on mice and small snakes if given the opportunity. They will eat plants as well and can help to keep your grass and weeds in check. They are hardy birds, great mothers and the drakes are good guard birds. They produce healthy high protein, lean meat that compares to roast beef. Their eggs are larger than a jumbo chicken egg with more protein and high levels of vitamins and minerals, and they will take your baked goods to the next level!
