Must be physically fit... Have valid drivers license... Have stable work history with good work references. Job includes a wide range of work tasks to promote the health, safety and independent life of the paralyzed individual. Successful applicant must attend training, obtain CPR card, fingerprinting and obtain clean Drug and FBI check.
Extensive personal care, including nursing level tasks like learning catheterization, injections, and bowel care, is required. These are permitted under the authority of NRS 629.091 without a nursing license, for a person with a disability. Willing to train a hard worker capable of learning the nursing tasks. Strong preference given for quadriplegic care experience. Also, being available to travel for an extended period is a plus.
The position may require working days or evenings. The day shifts are usually a split shift and require working 7-8 hours split between the hours of 8 AM and 7 PM. You must be available to work any time within that 11 hour range.
For example: The typical day shift requires a few hours of morning work, then taking an extended lunch period, and then returning for a few additional hours of work in the late afternoon. The evening shifts are typically 8 PM-Midnight.
