If you're in need of daycare, I run a small daycare with no more than four children at once. I offer Regio-inspired care with no TV or electronics, even during bad weather. My approach is based on play and exploration, following the children's interests. For example, if they're interested in the book 'If You Give a Mouse a Cookie', we might make cookies, draw pictures, talk about friendships, politeness and end with the letter C. If they're fascinated by dinosaurs, we might talk about what they eat, make a salad, measure their length and height using a tape measure and chalk. I incorporate math and science into our activities whenever possible. We spend time outdoors, whether it's raining, snowing, or sunny. Arts and crafts are an essential part of our daily routine because they help express who we are, what we understand, and our interests.

Although my care is play-based, I dedicate between 20 and 30 minutes of letter- or number-specific time. However, most other playtime activities or crafts incorporate language arts, math, or science. I offer potty training and diaper changing, and I don't mind cloth diapers.

Hello, my name is Shoshona. I have 6 years of experience working in a Regio-inspired preschool, and 7 years working with grade-schoolers. I also have my multi-subject credential and did my student teaching with kindergarteners. I realized that I loved working with preschool-age children when I was subbing for the Santa Rosa school district, and I have been working with preschoolers ever since.
