condition: good

Vintage 1976 -1977 Couesnon Flugelhorn -branded as a stencil Elkhart for sales in the USA. This horn was just serviced and valued. Please see attached receipt.

This flugelhorn was my late Father's. He was a professional musician for over 50 years. He received this horn as a gift in November of 1976 or 1977. His main instrument was trumpet - but he admired many horn players including Chuck Mangione. He played this flugelhorn in numerous professional engagements from Reno / Las Vegas showrooms and nightclubs to countless gigs all over San Francisco and Sacramento. While going through my Father's personal belongings it was my intent not to sell his horns as the sentimental value is great, but after much thought and consideration, I have come to the conclusion that I do not want his instruments to continue to sit and not be used. He would want someone to continue to make music with them as he greatly loved doing for so many years.

MARKINGS
Serial number: 130 -1059
There is an N on the 2nd valve
There is a 65X near what I call a tightening ring
Valves are labeled 1 2 3

CONDITION
Over all condition is good. There is lacquer loss to some areas. All denting has been removed except for a few very slight dings that the repairing tool for dents could not reach. The horn has been professionally disassembled and cleaned. All felts needing attention have been replaced. I was told by the gentleman doing the repairs and cleaning that this flugelhorn is valued right about $1100.00 - so that is what I am asking for it. I am sorry not to be more descriptive in technical terms but I am not an expert in brass instruments. If you have any questions please ask and I will do my best to obtain the appropriate answer. Additionally, I am at my limitation for photos here. (24 maximum) If you would like something specific, let me know and I will accommodate you.

HARD SHELL CASE
There are no splits or gouges. The stitching along the perimeter is all intact. Considering the age of the instrument and the continual use, the case is in very good to excellent condition.
