This is a good working transmission that was removed from a 1969 Mercury Marquis with a 429 V8. The transmission shifted well through all three gears, with no apparent signs of trouble. Fluid looked and smelled good, no signs of burning. I have no paper documentation on this transmission’s history, but it certainly appears to have been at very least well serviced throughout its life, if not rebuilt at some point. The car it came out of had 175k miles on it. This transmission will bolt up to any 385 series big block (370, 429, 460) as well as tall deck 335 series engines (351M, 400). These transmissions were used in a wide variety of Ford, Mercury and Lincoln cars, as well as pickup trucks and vans, and are known for being robust and reliable. The transmission was removed approximately seven months ago and has been properly stored inside since removal.
