Attention bowling teams, leagues, pros, semi-pros and hope-to-be-pros, ESPECIALLY YOUTH BOWLERS!
Off-the-rack bowling balls are made to fit the rack. That's why you want your own, custom ball. But before they touch a drill to the one you've chosen, you have to wonder if that's REALLY where you want the holes to be, and if you want round or oval holes. Rings, rulers and rows of holes won't tell you.
Here's how to be sure! I'm selling a Jayhawk Pro Model Measuring Ball, for fine-tuning the fit of new, custom bowling balls before drilling a single hole.
Comes with 34 Inserts, 2 adjustment keys, 2 metal span rulers, 1 Wide Bridge and the wooden display stand. Retail on just this part of the package is $1,150 (w/36 inserts, 2 inserts are missing from what I have)

Easy to use -- find the proper insert sizes (you DID bring your hands with you, right?), slip the inserts into the Measuring Ball, then with the adjustment keys, the inserts are moved into the proper positions. Handle the ball like a regular ball, adjusting a little bit at a time until you have an absolutely perfect feel. Read the micrometer measuring scales on the ball, and the holes can be drilled in the exact places. No guesswork, no hoping that it will be right, you will KNOW that the ball will fit YOUR hand. This system is like going to the optometrist, after the adjustment is done, you have a calibrated set of numbers which any driller can use.
This is especially important for youth bowlers, whose hands are constantly growing.
It's VITAL if you're ordering online. Whether you're buying a $40 ball or a $400 ball, you want it done right -- and it's rude to get fitting info from the Pro Shop, then not buy from them. For that matter, if you go into the Pro Shop with the calibrated numbers, you're making their job easier and faster, and this might translate into better pricing -- especially if your whole team is placing orders with their fitting numbers ready.
Some people prefer oval thumb holes, and this package includes the Oval Fitting System (retail $625), an additional set of 36 inserts, again in a wooden case.
