So you are appalled at all of the high rents, you find the typical rentals an 'economical nightmare' whether an apartment or motel weekly($200-$300 per week)?

What is a practical solution to not supporting the high rent real estate barons?

Most of Nevada and much of California is Federal Land, you have been paying taxes for years supporting the administrations or agencies that over see our land, such as B.L.M. and the U.S. Forest Service.

You have heard you can No longer get a patent of a mining claim as the last one was given in 1982, so you know you Can Not homestead or be a 'squatter' on federal land.

But what can we do on our land that we through our taxes have been supporting?

One can park an RV or truck with a camper, or park a trailer on virtually any National forest land or BLM for up to 14 days, then one has to move a few miles as those are the current rules.

All across America the craze of the day, called 'Boondocking', of those currently who call gasoline their only rent(easily less than $200/month), unless they park where you have to pay for a few hookups for electric and water. Check out 'boondocking videos on youtube or on the internet of how popular this is becoming!

And there are other options, I've read online about young people who do harvesting in orchards getting together a camp in Tipis in Oregon. One could live in a tent or tipi with a wood stove, and their cooking and heating is more frugal than paying the utility bills.

It's up to you, you have seen or have heard of elderly people 60-80 who worked hard in steady jobs, yet continued to pay high rent landlords, and eventually having little savings to buy their own home, have chosen to live at a shelter like 'Record Street' in Reno in their old age. Now that is sad, don't fall in that trap, or pay too high rent in weekly motels for $200-$300 per week; make the necessary adaptations before your money is squandered away feeding a landlord's empire!

Get out there and enjoy no rent. unless you temporarily stop at a facility RV like campground that has hookups for a few days.

If enough of us stop feeding the high rent game they may eventually wake up and realize the 'silicon valley high rent nightmare' needs to change.

Think about it, if you were single, and had a job you hated or an employer you could not tolerate much longer you would find another job ASAP. Well if one is paying in rent 25% to 33% of your monthly income, it is the optimum amount they should be paying; Not 75% of their monthly income for a place they will never own!

You have heard the song's lyrics, "This land is your land, this land is my land from California to..", well get out there and prove to yourself that this truly can be the "home of the brave, and land of the free"!
